The April edition of Scrapbook Generations CREATE Magazine was released a week or so ago. It's catching and it is truly one of the most amazing FREE, yes, free, publications I have ever come across. Debbie's writing style is amazing and the team just cranks out some amazing work! Allison' and Debbie create sketches that are, as always, inspirational. You can't NOT create with them they are just that good!
I had another Pebbles Inc layout featured in the Reader's Gallery. The double page sketches are my favorites and they always seem to suit Pebbles very well. Or perhaps it's the other way around?! Either way, it's like peaches and cream. All the layouts that I have submitted to the readers gallery get picked up and they pretty much all use Pebbles. Win-win for me!
The Americana collection by Pebbles Inc is very patriotic and very red, white and blue. Banners and pennants, wagons, even hot dogs! The banners were just what the sketch called for on the upper left hand border. Opting to place my title in a location other than the sketch called for, I had to amend the festive banners to suit my personal needs.
I love the plaid background. It's very busy but the white ink along the edges of blue patterned paper (B side of Stars and Stripes) with the punched star border allowed for a smoother and softer transition to the busy. That whitewashed wood is just sublime! One of my most coveted pieces of this collection!
Faux stitching and computer printed journaling! A small deviation from the sketch as a journal block was orginially called for. I felt that I had enough blocking on the layout and wanted some breathing space, some openess. The red print on white strips blended into the white wood to give that effect.
The sketches are free to download. If you haven't already, I highly recommend paying the Scrapbook Generations site a visit. You won't be disappointed!
Thanks for popping in today!
