Friday afternoon Nikolas became the proud owner of a new tricycle AKA trigh-slop. He was so excited that it had to be stripped of all packing immediately. As soon as all the features had been investigated we headed off around our circle; Nikolas to check out his new ride and his Daddy to assess the building of the new house on the corner. Took us a while to get there but he did it. With a lot of "put your feet on the pedals Nikolas" being reiterated from Michael and I.
We had a lovely day today putzing around in the garden. I cleaned out the skinny bed along the length of the garage and put some peas, radishes and bok choy seeds in while Michael mowed and fertilized. Our first mow of the year! I cleaned out some pots and planters and began putting plants in their new nests for the year; a few tomatoes and some herbs. Placed an order with White Flower Farm for a few things for the garden. Can't wait to receive my Umbrella Bamboo to place in the front of our house in our Asian Garden. Some day I hope to see some Asian sculpture and a container water garden among river rock as well.
Finished my first masterpiece created with that new fabric I bought. Sadly, can't share as the camera is not in my possession. And, as it is a present, will have to wait anyway.
We trialed a movie with the little man this evening... A home showing of Monsters, Inc; curtains were closed, popcorn was popped, surround sound was turned on. Unfortunately all attention was centered on the consumption of popcorn rather than enhancing the viewing process... Me thinks it will be a LONG time before Nikolas will be sitting through a movie at a movie theater. Given the cost of movie going these days, I suppose that is not such a bad thing!
Tomorrow is Michael's birthday.
