I know, I know, I know! I know it's been ages since I last blogged. What can I say? I wouldn't be lying if I told you that February has just been insanely busy. It has. Something going on every weekend of the month and most week nights.
Setting the month off to a good start, my parents came to visit to celebrate Chinese New Year. My sister and her family came down to join in the festivities. We had our usual tea pouring, steam boat and other food gluttony events! We went to Richmond's only dim sum restaurant and tried that out - will definitely go back. Daddy went home Monday morning and graciously left us his wife for a few days extra. Mummy and I had a grand old time piddling around on the computer with her newly aquired family history program. A great visit, we always enjoy their company and look forward to more visits!
The following weekend was Scrapbowl 2008 up in Chantilly. I had already conned Rina into joining me one night and Kris (my sister-in-law) the following night. It was a blast! Had a great time with both gals! Can't say I accomplished much in the way of finished layouts but I did enjoy the two classes that Kris and I took together. Learned a way of quickly putting albums together that focus' on the pictures rather than all the paraphernalia that I'm good at collecting. Had a mild heart attack when told to crop the pictures I had spent HOURS enhancing and perfecting to their 4x6 size...
Had a great night out with two of my friends. We all tried Sushi Go Round for the first time; one of those places that has sushi zipping around on a conveyor belt. Then introduced Tricia to the great big world of scrapbooking! She flew through the fast paced class like a pro, did better than other "seasoned" scrappers!
This past weekend Nikolas went to a party of one of his school friends at Pump It Up. We haven't been to one since we left Illinois so were thrilled to see the same inflatables. He had a blast in the boxing ring with the giant gloves and helmet thingy that you wear. Funny, he had no interest in it previously. I went and scoped out the scrapbook store nearby while he played the first hour and then joined in the festivities. Good times!
Today, Mizzy Moo and I had Loreen and Ethan over for a play date and went to check out "Cheeburger, Cheeburger" for lunch. Ethan is just the best little boy! And Mia loves having him as a playmate. It's uncanny to see the transformation she undergoes when there are other people in the house. Lately, she has been a handful. I know no other way of putting it. Just normal two year old behaviour; kicking and screaming, everything is mine and my way, "Mia do it", no, no, no and so on. It's terrible. Horrible. But then Ethan comes over and my little angel appears. Out of nowhere. So sweet and smiley...
My first spring flower has sprung from those bulbs! A yellow crocus. I bought a thousand other tubers and things from Costco to put in the ground once it thaws. Nikolas and I planted our first seeds the other day; sunflowers and some herbs. It's just odd how Spring is around the corner. Though I have no snow pictures this year and am mourning the lack of snow, it is cheerful that Spring arrives sooner!
