Yesterday I took the kids bowling after Nikolas came home from school. The first of what I anticipate will be many trips to the bowling alley this summer. I signed them up for the free bowling at the AMC bowling alleys. "Free" is a relative term when you have to pay $10 for two kids to rent bowling shoes. I am going to invest in bowling shoes for them to cross this hurdle. They had a blast! Mia is still using the ramp despite my attempts at encouraging her to roll the ball herself. This "new" (to us) alley has much smaller balls and is so much cleaner than the place we've been going to. Nikolas did well, about average for him as his score goes.
We took Mia to Target today to purchase the much anticipated booster seat! She has been looking forward to this moment for months. Ever since her friend Gracie Belden got her hot pink booster on her fourth birthday (back in February!)... And she's diligently been practicing the fastening of her 5 point restraint so that she's prepared for the booster. We went out a number of times today, with Mia in her booster, and she has gotten pretty good at doing that seat belt up all on her own!
