Welcome!! Happy National Scrapbook Day!!
The Sketch Support design team is celebrating our favorite hobby (and obsession!) with a National Scrapbook Day blog hop!! Hopefully you have arrived here via Christy's blog. If not, please begin at the Sketch Support blog and make your way here.
Allison sent us out the following sketch (downloadable at the Sketch Support site) and each of us is sharing with you our unique interpretation of that sketch. Adding our own flair and style to it.
Supplies: Cardstock; Bazzill, Patterned Paper; Crate Paper, October Afternoon, Basic Grey, Punch; Marth Stewart, EK Success, Bling, labels and Die cut Shapes; Basic Grey, Tag; Maya Road, Misc; Fiber and DMC Floss
As I do with most sketches, I adapt the sketch to my pictures. I wanted to use more pictures and had more vertical pictures so I shrunk a few and used them side by side instead of the 4x6 horizontals. I also have noticed this tendency to shift the embellishment placement. Likely due to my use of different picture sizes, my support structures need different placement for visual symmetry and balance.
The question posed to us which the design team is all answering; "Why Do I Scrapbook?" Why? Why not might take less time... Let's see... Well, I have to have somewhere to store the gazillion pictures I take. I come from a long line of craftsy women and would be a shame to my predicessors if I didn't pass on some type of artistic creations to future generations. Where they were more into stitching and sewing, I do the same on paper. And, most importantly, I love documenting our journey through life. I love to see the joy on my children's faces as they flip through the scrapbooks and relive the moments of time that are encapsulated in each page.
In addition to the fantastic grand prize that you are eligible for by completing the scavenger hunt, Allison has graciously offerred up a Scrapbook Generation's Sketches for Scrapbooking volume of your choice for me to give away.
