My first layout of 2012!! Inspired by a sketch by Valerie Salmon found here on the Scrapbooks Etc blog. It's an amazingly inspirational sketch!! I love that it pulled me out of my linear, straight line box. That ever so slight angle was just enough to make me comfortable and not cringe!
Because I wanted to use Nikolas' bib on the page, I had to increase the picture dimensions from those specified on the sketch. I merged the three photos into one but kept their placement between the patterned papers on either side.
I made my own journal spot!! I've been dabbling around with PhotoShop creating my own elements for some hybrid scrapping. It's fun! Another creative outlet!! Like I needed something else to do!
I also played with one of the new We R Memory Keepers Sew Stamper thingy-ma-bobbers for the first time. Picked that up at Scrapdoodles on my latest trip (to spoil myself for my birthday!). I wasn't sure I was going to be a fan, after all, I like handstitching! I like it! I intentionally back tracked and re-ran over my "stitches", it adds to the grungy look of the layout. What I wonder though, is how I'm going to re-ink the self inker when it runs out?...
Thanks for stopping by! Hope your 2012 has gotten off to a Scrappy Good Start!!
