The picture on this layout was taken of Mia while visiting Kennedy Space Center during Spring Break this past spring. She was deep in thought: an extremely rare occurence. I don't know what was going on in that head of hers but I try and cherish those moments. It is quite unlike her.
The color scheme of Stephanie's lastest color challenge at Bella Blvd was ideal for this picture of her! The hint of the teal really make those stunning eyes pop even more than they already do, don't you think? Letter size layouts aren't my norm so it was a challenge to work in a different size. I like it once in a while. There are some layouts that just need that smaller space, like this one.
I fussy cut the "Notes From Today" heading from a journal card and used a Souffle marker for a splash of the support black. The subtle, soft pink zig zag along the edges of the main block add another fun element.
The title work on this layout really got me... Originally the title was to be "Deep IN Thought". I don't have small enough letters for the in so that went out the window. Thought didn't fit in the space so I had to play around with the spacing of the letters some. Not the font that I envisioned or initially cut out for "thought" either, I had wanted a different font than that of "deep". But it works, I like it.
Sigh... my new dies from Memory Box!! Love the detail in Memory Box dies! The perfect touch of wispiness to reflect Mia's wisps of hair and wisps of thought.
Here is to deep thoughts and periods of contemplation and reflection! As we batten down the hatches for our visit with Sandy, I believe there will be plenty of time to contemplate the strength and power of nature.
