I have been enjoying some new found pleasures lately; cards and mixed media. I don't consider myself a card maker. I'm not sure that I ever will. But I have truly enjoyed making cards lately. I have sat down and created them in and of my own accord. Not for pub calls, not for DT assignments, not because I have to to but because I want to. Crazy, I know!
Not only have I been creating cards but I've been dabbling increasinly in mixed media. Incorporating more Gelatos, paint watercolor, messy stuff into my projects. It used to freak me out, the idea of ruining a project that I'd spent so much time conceptualizing and putting together. I learned a little trick; get messy first, work around it second! There's plenty of paper (let's not tell Michael I said that!) and there's always a viable alternative if I do make a mistake.
No mixed media on this card, but it is interactive!
The minute I saw the "happy" cut files on the Technique Tuesday website, I KNEW, I just knew that this is what I was going to do with it. The tough part was figuring out the mechanism of the slide. It didn't take long to figure it out and it works like a charm!
Now you see it...
And then you get the secret message intended for the lucky recipient! And my Vanna White (AKA Mia) who very proudly smiled as she demonstrated how the card works... Silly girl!
All this created using the Yours Truly collection by Pebbles! Not just a lovey Valentines collection; once again, used for something other than! Love doing that!
