Oh! The decisions! The best thing about going away is the planning. I LOVE planning; the what's, the when's, the where's and the how's. And the Internet makes it SO much easier too.
Our next little adventure is to Southern Utah to visit Michael's family. So close, yet so far away; not near any major airport (bummer) but close to some great hiking (yeah!). Perfectly timed was the arrival of the latest Sunset magazine with an article about the Southwest and it's slot canyons, reminding me of something I've wanted to do since our trip to Utah in 2001. My dilemna; Zion's Narrows Bottom-Up (easy and time to photograph) or One Day Thru-Hike (rushed long hike to see the "whole thing") or Lower Antelope Canyon or Buckskin Gulch. Should we adventure alone or with a guide? Hmmm... I do know that I'm wishing we were going for a greater length of time.
Check out these pictures!
How could you not want to go there? How does one get such awesome pictures? I'm going to need a filter of some sort would be my guess. I'm so excited!
I just placed holds in 7 Southwestern US books. The Crystal Lake library loves me! About once a week I log on and put a whole slew of books on hold. With my little man in tow, it is rather difficult roaming the aisles seeking quality material. Instead I sit on the luxury of my home, type in what I want and select to my hearts desire. I don't feel bad, I'm making them earn the $196 annual fee I paid. God only knows what it will be next year when our taxes are assessed!
Better go and work on my other projects - I STILL have that quilt to quilt. Have I said I HATE quilting?
Are there any geocaches in the slots? If you don't find anything exciting in Zions one can check out the slots in Las Vegas!
