From the minute Nikolas got off the bus Friday afternoon until we arrived back at our doorstep 2 hours ago, we have been on the move. A very fun weekend indeed!!
Friday afternoon was our family photo session at church for the family yearbook... Or, so it was supposed to be. After arranging us just so, smooshed together like bolt upright sardines, the photographer discovered that he had camera wireless issues... Ugggghhhh! Scheduling the appointment was a pain to begin with, never mind a second go at it. So dressed for the occasion, we came home and had our own mini shoot in the garage with the black velvet long ago purchased for said occasions. Not bad...
Then, the most highly anticipated event of the day; Spinning Fire. An event organized by our local Parks & Rec. The kids played with hula hoops and roasted marshmellows as the sun crept its way down, down, down. Closer and closer to the horizon until it was dark enough for the fire dancers to do their thing.
Saturday Mia had another soccer game. She scored 3 goals!! Rumor has it the team they played was even more challenged than our Poodles... I was at a scrapbook crop, so, no pictures, sorry.
Today we met Marina (my sister) and her boys up at Andrews AFB for the Joint Forces open house. We began with the inflatables and other fun play structures. Sebastien, Nikolas and Mia all had a jump on the bungee things. Mia tried hard to do a flip though didn't quite manage. Sebastien and Nikolas jumped like rabbits, their enthusiasm waning as time wore on. Michael took the same crowd to the zipline and each had his or her turn at that! The play stuff aside, we could go about enjoying the real reason we went, the planes and airshow. Some potential weather deterents kept us on our toes but it turned out to be a good show. The Thunderbirds closed the show as we worked out way back to the shuttle bus which delivered us to our satellite parking.
Some sibling love... Definitely either end of the spectrum with these two... And not much in between. This, clearly, was a very sweet moment. So lucky to have captured in on "film"!
What glorious photos! Your black velvet is just the ticket :). The fire dancers photo is spectacular ...
