This afternoon was Mia's dance rehersal for her big recital tomorrow. The whole "year" of dance is geared towards this grand finale!
Having a girlie girl for this Tom-boy mother is... well, interesting. Mia has to have full makeup and hair for both today, the rehersal, and tomorrow's recital. Um, well, yes... Nice that you share YouTube videos and full detail but nope, not gonna happen. For one, I haven't a clue. And secondly, she's not going to sit still for me while I figure it out. So, off to Serey we went. Yup, I paid somebody else to do my daughter's hair and makeup. The best $20 I have spent!!
I realized, seeing her hair all tight and snug back in a bun that my daughter is even more beautiful than I knew. I mean, we all know the girl has the most amazing blue eyes. But pull her hair away from her face, expose that long slender face of hers and she just takes your breath away.
The rehersal began with the finale. All the dancers from the studio were in the finale so in order to get everybody home at age appropriate hours, they began with the ending then worded their way through the rest. Each girl had to have black pants and either a blue or green shirt. It was cute to see the sea of blue and green moving and swaying up on the stage.
Mia's dance class, Dance Pups 2, did a ballet number to "When We Were 64". Each girl has a partner and they twirled then one of the girls sat on her partners knee. I'm not quite sure what Casey and Ashley were thinking when they partnered Mia to sit on Julia's knee, it ought to have been the other way around... But adorable, very cute indeed. Lots of effort and lots of smiles with very little coordinated movement. But fun! The girls had a blast in their limelight and enjoyed every minute of it!
Tomorrow is the "real" deal. I likely won't be able to take pictures like I did today and I doubt I'll even try. Being behind the camera is great for scrapbooking material but not for enjoying the overall experience. I want to see her dance, to see her frolick and smile. Hope you enjoyed your preview into her big moment!
Does this little one EVER take a BAD picture?? She is so beautiful!

Isn't she just beautiful? All that lovely posture and long-limbed elegance ... The photo of her at the top is stunning. Hoping the real thing went as well as this. :)
