There aren't many blogs that I visit regularly, I just don't have the time. But those that I do, are amazing! I always learn something new or am spurred to thinky thoughts. This morning I went to visit my bloggy friend Alexa and learned about this sketch challenge over at Sketchbook365. I have never met Alexa but her posts are amazing, her prose is thought provoking, insightful and real. I wish I knew how the connection developed, not that it matters. One day she posted on my blog and it became a reciprocal, mutual exchange.
Anyhoo, through Alexa, I "met" Sian whose layout is the inspiration behind the sketch at Sketchbook365. A bit circuitous but you follow, right? Through all that, I was inspired and came up with this layout.
I couldn't conjure up any brilliant ideas for the banner on the left hand side of the layout. It just didn't work for this layout, there is enough there. There are plenty of bits and bobs and there is no need for anything more. Not in my humble opinion...
I kept the general idea of the 6 squares with different types of frames and embellies. You can see where the inspiration came from. Lots of Jenni Bowlin and, of course, my beloved Coredinations as a background.
I love mixing and matching fonts for titles, adds a little spunk.
You probably remember the pictures from early August when I took Mizzy Moo to Claire's to get her ears pierced. The shock of the pain then the pure pleasure at seeing her freshly pierced refletion in the hand held mirror. I am pleased to report that she herself is faithfully cleaning and spinning daily. The occasional reminder is necessary but most days, she takes the initiative to do it herself. I am reminded daily that Nikolas' birthday is the day she can remove the piercing studs and put a new pair in. I am queried everytime we walk into a store that sells earrings if she can buy some more (we have a mere 20 pair of starter earrings waiting in the wings....).
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
Wow, you have done a great job, it is beautiful. Girls are always become excited for the new pair of earrings.
