Had to edit a couple of pictures for family and friends not in the 'hood to see how we spent our Halloween. Apparently, it was cold this year... Dressed as the Mama Panda, I didn't feel the cold. Nikolas said he was just right and Mia had no complaints to offer... Can't have been that bad.
At the very last minute, I decided to invite some friends over for dinner. I like having friends over, I like decorating for special occasions, why not? Never mind that I had all these "pins" from Pinterest that needed to be experimented with! So after several trips to the grocery store, Michael's and the dollar store, the scene was set, food prep under way and the cupcakes cool enough to decorate! The kids did an awesome job helping out.
I used a printable from Elle's Studio to spruce up these cupcakes with the RIP tombstone. I made the bones with molds (thank you Wilton) and Oreo "dirt", icing and yogurt covered pretzel bits topped it off. Another printable from Pinterest for the juice labels. Bats and a banner from years gone by!
Nikolas was the incredible Hulk this year. He had the Hulk fists from a swimming event that he used them in and decided to go all out with the face paint and padded muscles. Ironic... My tall, thin boy as the short, muscular Hulk! Michael did the face paint this year - he did a great job!
Mia was a panda. Not Kung Fu Panda, just a Panda. We added to the costume with some mittens that we hot glue gunned white "paw prints" onto. There was a bit of a costume mishap (corrected, of course) so I ended up with a matching costume. Mama Panda had the fortune of accompanying Baby Panda on her adventures. Yelling to keep of other people's lawns, take only one when buckets of candy were left on the stairs, and to wait for everybody else!
The Motley crew prior to embarking into the depth of our neighborhoods! Little did the neighbors know what was about to descend upon them!! Sorry about the flash and some blurry pictures. I'm trying to shoot in manual mode and I'm not having much luck in the dark or with the green Hulk for some reason... The dark I get but why all my pictures of Nikolas, even in daylight, are blurry, I don't... It's frustrating because I am not painting his face all over again for sharp pictures... It took a long time to get that green off him!!
Here's hoping you had as much fun this Halloween as we did! Happy Halloween!
What a splendid occasion you've made of it! I am wondering if you painted your walls that lovely shade to match :). Those cupcakes look delicious too.
