A month or so ago I bought a mask by The Creative Workshop with chevron that I just HAD to have (bet you know nothing of such needs!! LOL!). It's been sitting in my collection, waiting for the right moment. I've pulled it out a couple of times, trying to make it fit into the project at hand, to no avail. Well, I found the project!
A chevron loaded layout (kind of like a loaded baked potato!). I used paints with the mask and rubbed in color. I then doodled ontop of the paint to add some more texture and visual interest to the layout. I think the dark blue doodling on the bottom is a bit distracting but I can't find a way to soften it shy of starting over...
I absolutely LOVE these Detail Flags stamps from Elle's Studio. You've seen them here and there on a few layouts now. They had re-stocked but are sold out once again! Apparently I'm not the only one who is a fan! Have you noticed I've been stamping on my layouts much more lately? Correction, stamping has been involved much more. I'm still chicken to stamp directly ON the layout!
I did stamp directly ON the layout here however! The journaling is about Mia's beginning of the race and beginning of her summer swim season. The bright colors here remind me of something Doodlebug would put out. I actually paired this paper from Queen & Co with two pieces from Doodlebug when shopping. As you see, they didn't get used together...
So, yes, I have apparently jumped on the chevron bandwagon... What can you do with chevrons? What are your thoughts on the chevron craze? I don't mind them. They are geometric, geometric works for me.
