I am absolutely amazed at the quality of cell phone pictures these days! I really loved this picture of my parents (AKA the WrinkLee's), my sister Marina and I immediately before walking to the chapel for my Gran's funeral. It was a spontaneous moment that just captured "us", the essence of who were at the moment and the simultaneous joy and sorrow we were experiencing individually and as a family. I wanted to scrap that moment, that picture, but wasn't sure the picture quality would be that brilliant. It was so good, with some editing, I was able to get it 8.5 inches wide to fit the full width of a piece of letter patterned paper! Amazing!
The bright colors and the florals of Pebbles' Garden Party collection are perfection with this picture! The butterflies for the symbolism of rebirth after death, the additional flowers from the collection to accompanying those we were carrying into the chapel and the tabbed journal die cut that enabled me to hide my journaling. My Gran was a colorful lady who lived a full and colorful life, both qualities reflected in the colors of the layout.
Instead of the usual "chippies" that Pebbles has in their trademark packaging, the Garden Party collection has a flower packet. Grow your own instant garden on your page! Dress up the garden a bit with Candy Dots for dimensional flower centers.
Normally, I would stamp or hand write "pull" on the tab to draw your attention to the hidden journaling tucked in behind the picture. I didn't want this one to be obvious thus choosing to leave the tab. On the backside of the pink polka dots is my journaling.
I really wanted a different title. Originally I had "It's Never Easy to Say Goodbye" but with a large photo and an 8.5x11 sized layout, there isn't much room! Goodbye alone it must be.
If you haven't seen this new collection from Pebbles, it's just perfect for all those upcoming Spring days, Easter and Spring flowers. Even girly layouts. The bright, vibrant colors are the perfect pick me up!
I love the very colorful graphic look of Peebles' product and you've showcased it wonderfully here. Love this page. Pinned it.

What a lovely tribute! Love that you were able to capture the moment and went with a bright color scheme. So often loss is reflected with darker colors. The sentiment of loss is still there, but the brightness offsets the sadness. Very nice!

Love this layout! I strongly feel that scrapbooking our hard moments can be so therapeutic. I hope the process and beautifully finished layout help you work through your Gran's passing. Blessings!
