Anybody else out there have book worms in their house? I have two! Both children are avid readers. We move through books like nobody's business. It's fantastic as a parent to see that love for literature. It's even more uplifting as a parent in a mini-van with these children! (yes, I'm grining from ear to ear as I write this) It makes for a quiet and easy 13 hour ride home from Spring Break in Florida!!
Other than the 3 movies this is what she did the whole way home! I'm not sure as I cannot for the life of me keep up with everything she's reading, sometimes there are 3 books going at once, but I believe a whole book was consumed, er, I mean read, on the just the trip home.
Though not directly about travel, it is in a way and thus the travel line from Imaginisce Perfect Vacation was the perfect line to use for this layout. Mix and match a few different fonts cut with my Cameo with letter stickers for the perfect title.
Add a few of Imaginsice's die cuts to represent the travel part of the theme. And a WHOLE lotta hearts for her love of reading. That passion is huge. And so are the number of hearts. While in St. Pete's I was allowed, yes, allowed, a detour to the scrapbook store Whim So Doodle. It's a marvelous store if you're in the area. While there, I picked up these new pocket style dies from Sizzix. Perfect for this layout!
And another die cut from Imaginisce's Perfect Vacation collection. Adorned with a machine stitched heart, remnant from the die cut. Littered among the hearts on the page are also stamps from my friend Nina's new stamp and die company, Waffle Flower. If you haven't seen her goodies, I recommend you check them out, they are amazing.
I realized as I was pinning my layouts to the equilavent of the "my creations" board on Pinterest that I have been an avid 8.5 x 11 layout creator of late. Did you notice that? It's funny how I made the transition from 12 x 12 almost exclusively to the rectangle. It just sort of creeped into being without my realizing it. I think I prefer "letter" sized layouts better as I either use a lot (double page layouts) or a little of pics and embellishments. Balance is easier to establish on a rectangular canvas. Some pages which are littered in "stuff" just distract me from the story. I like my focus to be on the pictures and the story behind them. All my embellies play a support role to those two key elements. Do you have a preference in size? Why?
i am new to crafting and would love to win
