Ready 2 Ride / Imaginisce Little Princess

Dropping in today to share with you a layout I created using the Little Princess collection from Imaginisce. It's clean. It's simple. Yet there are enough details that it took some time and thought to create. I hope that, despite it's apparent simple appearance, you see the intricacies I put into it, the little unique bits that make it mine.

This was her riding "uniform" every day for the week that Mia went to horse camp;

• brain bucket of the horse variety and one must distinguish from a cycling helmet (ne'er the two shall interchange!),
• long pants, typically blue jeans but here, on her last day, pants the better "matched" her shirt
• hard cooler with her self made and packed lunch
• Dad's backpack that housed sunscreen, a sweatshirt (??) and other misc stuff that I'm probably better off not knowing was in there
• riding boots

These die cut journaling spots that Imaginisce now creates for each collection are wonderful! They allow for so much more journaling than the Sticker Stacker's ever did! I will say that I miss re-alocating the bits and pieces of the Sticker Stackers however...

For the top header I cut coordinating squares from the 6x6 pad that had a tighter detail and pop dotted them on the same patterned paper orginial size. My title is difficult to read from this angle but look! Remember I told you I was going to figure out photographing metallic and shimmer? Well, I think I nailed it on this layout! Love the new tapes from Little B that have a touch of gold or silver in them! I could put tape on everylayout (along side the Twinery twine)!

A better view of that Little B tape/washi! And, my handstitiching. It's been a while. I like the way the zig zag turned out and almost, opposed the zig zag in the paper.

Nothing princessy about this layout other than the collection name and perhaps, the colors. Something my Mum said struck me the other day; I can't remember the exact words but it was along the lines of me having expectations of Mia being girly... It struck a cord because I don't want her to feel that she is gender bound. And so, this layout has that thought prominent in my mind as I created it. Feminine touches but not gender bound. It's interesting how your thoughts influence how you scrap, isn't it? Do you have a layout that you distinctly remember creating that was driven by such a thought?
