Welcome to Day 1 of the Twinery and Ruby Rock-It Blog Hop!! You should have arrived here by way of Rebecca VanDeMark's blog and you are about two thirds of the way through the hop. If you just happened to stumble upon the hop, please be sure to head to the Ruby Rock-It blog and work your way back here. Be sure to comment along the way as there are prizes to be won!
I received the Oriental Chic collection from Ruby Rock-It which is very fitting for me, having grown up in Hong Kong and being half Chinese. I was torn between using the reds for a wedding layout and the blues for the Willow pattern china that I bought in Hong Kong at age 17 before migrating here to the US. You can see which I went with!
The story of the china and how it came to be in our family is on that tag for the children to read and find someday. Someday that china will be theirs and the story of it's importance to me will be known. I used both the solid and striped Midnight blues to create the "pull" on the journaling tag tucked underneath.
That same solid Midnight Blue Twinery twine made for the perfect centers to adorn the wood venner and sticker flowers from the Ruby Rock-It embellishments, dress them up a bit. It was as simple as tying knots at each end of a short length and adhering three of them with liquid adhesive. The other flower is on the top right hand corner of the layout.
Be sure to check out both the Ruby Rock-It shop HERE and The Twinery shop HERE for these and other similar amazing product!
Both companies have amazing prizes to give away. One lucky winner can win three spools of Twinery twine of the winner's choice ($45 retail value). Another lucky winner can win the Ruby Rock-It Essence Empire Bebe Collection, with the exception of the album. Please refer to the rules and regulations on each companies individual blog. You ought to have seen the details at the beginning of the hop.
For your reference, today's hop list looks like this;
From here you are heading on to BECKIE's blog for more Ruby Rock-It and Twinery goodness! Thanks for stopping in today! Be sure to keep hopping on Friday and Saturday, there are two more days of projects to wow you!
I'm a fan of blue and white china as well. And your page is just beautiful.

OH MY - what a lovely china collection and FABULOUS layout Suzanna!!!
LOVE all the pretty patterned papers and lacy border strip, I think it is wonderful how well they work together without distracting from the photos or each other, rather, they enhance the story of the willow pattern!!!
LOVE how you have used the twine to create the tag pull and decorate the wood flower too, the knots are perfect!!!
THANK YOU for sharing your CREATIVE INSPIRATION!!!

Gorgeous layout!! It almost looks like those papers were made to match the dishes in the pictures. I love the added twine accent....it really completes the page.
