One of the new Kaisercraft collections, Shine Bright, really grabbed me and I just had to have it. While I had nothing in mind when purchasing it, this large photo of the kids lighting sparklers a couple of summers ago was just the perfect compliment.
The yellow of the lighting sparklers is highlighted by the yellow of the collection while the black accentuates the setting sun and fading light in the background.
The round of the sequins work perfectly with the circles of the Sunbeam paper. The sprinkling up top tie the bottom of the page together with the few on the bottom right. I used my decorative scissors to cut the sentiment strip from a Pink Paislee paper with a phrase that speaks of sparkle and shine, words that apply to sparklers. The zig zag breaks up some of the horizontal dominance of the large picture and horizontal stripes.
It's difficult to tell in this picture but the cardstock that I die cut the happy from has some sparkle and simmer to it. LOVE those die cuts from Heidi Swapp!
A little of this and a little of that thrown in there!
I have to say, when I set out to create this layout, these were not the colors I thought I would use. I had the traditional red, white and blue in mind. It was pure coincidence that I pulled this out of my stash while looking for something else to coordinate. A happy accident indeed! Love those!
