Today I am sharing with you a rare moment; my 8 year old asleep. It's a rare moment because she is a light sleeper who hates sleeping... You know it's an unfortunate moment when she's napping, period. Even more unusual when she is napping on the couch. She bumped her head on the door some how and gave herself quite a headache.
The background patterned paper is from the Bella Blvd collection Just Add Color. And add color I did!! I often create layouts that incorporate the colors in my photos into the layout in order to create symbiosis and harmony between the photos and their surroundings. I dug up all kinds of red and navy for various collections. You will note it's not difficult for me to do as our swim team colors are also red and navy and I have done many a swimming layout using Bella Blvd goodies!
I used dies from Craftwell/Teresa Collins' Noteworthy Pocket Die collection for this layout as well. I love the ability to run four dies with different patterns through the Cut'N Boss at once and call it done! Just sit back and let the electronic machine do all the hard work for you! I will say that the Craftwell/Teresa Collins gold dies tend to warp your plates so make sure that you reserve plates for that single purpose. I also find that they truly work best in the Cut'N Boss.
I wanted to all a little splash of color to the black and white background and found just the word to highlight. I pulled out my Peerless watercolors which made quick work of this special detail. I used the heart that I popped out from the die cut Bella Blvd frame in the "O" for another pop of color.
Thanks for stopping in today! I hope you get the odd occasion to take a nap too! I won't take pictures, I promise!
I love navy and red together...one of my favorite color combos
