I've created a number of 8.5x11 layouts lately. There's something about the size that has really captured my attention lately. I've always dabbled with the size here and there, as the fancy grabs me or the pictures seem better suited to the rectangular canvas. Lately more and more of my pictures see to be of the letter size variety.
Inspiration comes in all shapes and sizes! This layout is inspired by the logo of our local summer swim league. I was folding the Mia's T-shirt while doing laundry on Sunday and thought that this large collegiate letter with the "swimming" within the leg of the "W" would be easy to replicate with my Silhouette Cameo. And sure enough, it was! And made for a great centerpiece to my layout of these four 9-10 year olds getting ready to swim their relay.
I bought the KaiserCraft green and blue and green paper specifically with our summer swim league in mind as they are our team colors. The navy and kelly green are the perfect shades. Some bits and pieces from Elle's Studio are the perfect compliments along with other random bits from my stash.
There is a little pull tab on the right of the photo with some hidden journaling behind. The structure of the layout really didn't leave much room for visible storytelling. I have tried to put more emphasis on the story telling lately.
Thanks for popping in! With states beginning today, there is just one more meet before we earn a month long respite from our slogging up and down the lane lines! There will be more time than one knows what to do with shortly.
Having a break from all that busyness sounds a very restful prospect, and well deserved. I do like this size too - it's a long time since I did anything bigger. You've got the perfect papers here, and your big W really has the wow factor. I always enjoy your very creative work :).
