Did you catch the August The Scraproom kit unboxing I shared on the first? I didn't know about this PhotoPlay collection until I opened by box and can I just say, awesome?! It has a Brandi Kincaid feel to it and I'm a super fan! The colors are bright and it's a white based collection, all things that make my memory keeping heart happy! It was a no brainer that it would be the first collection I use from the four in the Flavor of the Month collections.
In creating the layout, I didn't want to ruin the visual triangle that I had created with journaling so I was lucky to have created a bit of a "pocket" in which to hide my journaling. There is nothing secret about the journaling (that isn't there because I just haven't written the story) but I didn't want to ruin the feel that I had created on the page. Sometimes your design doesn't allow for visible journaling if you don't account for it within your design. That little tab is a perfect "lift here".
The white space on the right half of the layout would have been okay "as is", naked but I like the effect that the splatters of mist create on the layout. Doesn't that yellow "it's a lovely day" phrase sticker look like a sun up there on the right corner? I think it works perfectly with the subtle sun flare in the photo.
If you are of the process video watching ilk then be sure to head on over HERE on my YouTube channel to see how this page came together! It's a direct link to this layout's process video. When I blog ahead of time, the video is scheduled and I cannot embed it in my post, sorry.
Thanks for stopping in today! I hope you have enjoyed these blog posts. I really am trying to make a more concerted effort to post regularly. Let me know if there is something in particular you want to see!
